Avril Lavigne's World Tour, dubbed the Best Damn Tour began in March and was supposed to end in August.
But now she's forced to postponed a string of US tour dates after losing her voice, having been diagnosed with acute laryngitis two months into her five-month world tour.
She had already cancelled concerts in San Diego, California, and Phoenix, Arizona.
Last week: 2 shows cancelled
Now: 6 more called off, in California and Washington.
She said: "Even though I have been resting my voice for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out. My sincerest apologies to all of my fans. My intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realised this wasn't possible. I have never cancelled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!"
Her next scheduled dates are in the United Kingdom: 26 May: Glasgow.

Miley Cyrus's embarrassing photos for upcoming Vanity Fair issue
The 15-yr old Hannah Montana superstar issued the following statement through her publicist: "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."
The photos were taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Charlton Heston dies at 84
Charlton Heston (John Charle Carter) RIP
The star of Hollywood epics Ben-Hur and The Ten Commandments, and Oscar winner for best actor died Saturday 5th April 2008 at his home in Beverly Hills.
His wife Lydia, whom he married in 1944 (that's 64 years of married life!) was at his side.
In 2002, he revealed that he had symptoms consistent with Alzheimer's disease.
His big break was in 1952 when he starred as the ringmaster in the movie The Greatest Show on Earth.
HIs seminal role as Moses would come 4 years later in The Ten Commandments.
Heston's family said a private memorial service would be held.

Luciano Pavarotti faked his final live performance
Luciano Pavarotti’s final live performance was on 10th February 2006, where he sang “Nessun Dorma” at the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Turin, Italy. His performance was the final act of the opening ceremony, and it received the longest and loudest ovation of the night from the international crowd.
However, on the 8th of APril 2008, the BBC reported that Pavarotti was actually only miming during his last performance at the winter Olympics in Turin in 2006. Conductor Leone Magiera has revealed the singer's rendition of Nessun Dorma was pre-recorded, as a live performance would have been "too dangerous". Pavarotti, who died in September, was already suffering pain months before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Magiera said: "The orchestra pretended to play, I pretended to conduct and Luciano pretended to sing." He added: "It came off beautifully, no one was aware of the technical tricks."

On 8th April 2008, the BBC reported that Kylie Minogue, 39 has revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres chat show (a US TV show) that the first doctor she saw failed to diagnose she had breast cancer.
She announced she had the illness back in 2005.
"Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right," said the Australian star.

Clintons earned more than USD100 million ever since Bill left the US presidency in 2000
ex US president Bill Clinton and his wife, presidential hopeful Hillary have declared their income: they earned nearly USD110 million in 8 yrs, from 2000.
More than USD20 millon were made last year (2007).
Almost half was made from Bill's speaking engagements.
The former first couple last disclosed their earnings in 2000, the year they left the White House; they reported a gross incomeof USD416K then.
They paid about USD34 million in taxes between 2000 and 2007.
That means the REAL money comes after the presidency: Clinton's speaking engagements around the world, business ventures and book writing: Bill has made USD30 million from his two books, My Life and Giving.
Not to be outdone, Hilary has also made a lot of money via book writing: more than USD10 million from Living History.
Others have also revealed their income:
Barack Obama's tax returns for 7 years were published on his website: nearly USD1 million was earned in 2006, nearly half of it from his 2nd book, The Audacity of Hope.
John McCain has, in previous financial disclosures, listed his primary sources of income as his Senate salary of USD170,000 and his Naval pension of about USD56,000. It's worth mentioning that his wife is heiress to a USD100 million stake in Hensley & Co, a large beer distributorships.
